If only they'd take these principles and apply them throughout the city. Once you leave downtown, it's car sewer. Pinhook & Kaliste Saloom has the worst pedestrian experience. But downtown does give me hope!

This makes a lot of sense - I walk a lot in my neighborhood and the street I hate walking on the most is straight for a mile with a lot of single story buildings set back from the sidewalk.

Love our dowtown layout!! I will say to the large open walkways downtown, as a busker (which should honestly be more common in a city like laffy) it makes it much less awkward for people to pass us by with all of our equipment and not feel like we’re taking up too much walking room! Same for the monthly artwalk with lots of vendors setting up on the street and during festival season. Not sure if that was the original intent but it works in our favor lol great analysis!

Have visited Lafayette a few times, including a long term stay for work. Was always struck by how great this part of town is. I believe it’s also near the rail station and bus station.
