@dr.dan_dpt: What Carla is feeling is a textbook presentation of dancer’s hip. Whenever dealing with dancer’s hip, the most important thing you can do is to build strength and control in the hip flexor with exercises similar to what we did in the clinic. As you get stronger and gain control in the hip flexor, the pain will lessen and hopefully the clicking goes away. Also, Carla isn’t just a former dancer with hip pain, she’s also the newest PT at Mims Method! We’re incredibly lucky to have her since she is such a skilled clinician with a long history of dance. You can officially make an appointment to see her in the clinic! #physicaltherapy #dancer #dancersoftiktok
every time I've gone to a physiotherapist or my doctor about this pain they're confused because I'm very flexible and have good range of motion. thank you!

Love these breakdowns. The squat university content formula is a solid approach.

you are amazing for this! I went to PT for sciatica and my hip, and I had very similar problems to hers. Doing strengthening exercises has helped a ton, i rarely ever get that popping anymore!!

do you feel you’re better able to access the psoas muscle from STM to the back vs the front ?

I cant :
i have exactly that, even on my left hip, but I’m no dancer💀 neither super flexible. My PT says it’s likely from doing hip thrusts without padding. Im going to try the band exercise.

Hi I’m like Carla, MRI and X-ray revealed hip impingement syndrome. Strengthing my glutes and quads, and stopping aggregating activities helped.

I’m hypermobile with dancer’s hip on my left. I can do the leg lift well but I only feel my quad firing. Is it overcompensating for a weak hip flexor?
