Trillium House :
I had a silky once hatch 17 monster eggs. She was the proud momma of ducks and chicken crossbreeds(polish and other). Your girl got this!

Question: can permanent marker leech into the shell? I remember we used to mark our turtles with finger nail polish. But then we learned it can get absorbed 🥺

Love your realistic homestead content. Due to personal health, I won’t be gardening this year. Due to city ordinance I won’t have a flock. But I have the mindset.

Do you ever use an incubator to hatch eggs? None of my hens are currently broody

I use coloring pencils, they work great and doesn’t have all the chemicals markers do.

Get an incubator & you can have as many as you want if fertile. But you’re right, you’re not sure what you’ll get. Last batch I ordered was supposed to be all hens, 6 of 32 birds were roosters 🙄

I ordered 70 chicks from Rochester hatchery Alberta and they shipped it to my local feed store. Every single chick survived so far. they are 2 1/2 weeks old now. Highly recommend.

We are hatching as many as we can because of the bird vaccine that we heard will be in almost all new chicks from hatcheries. Zombie chicks hatched this week

Hey bud, Don’t use sharpy on the eggs only pencil. That sharpy messes with hatching rate.

The price of eggs is so high this year, there must be too much money to fit.
