the painting makes me nauseous for many reasons. for one, this is a physical representation of the severe trauma armand has endured. requested to be painted by the man who struck him with it. but the fact that marius didn't even see him as important enough to give an accurate description? that's what hurts even more. this thing that has heavily impacted armand as a person isn't even made in his proper likeness. a whitewashed "pretty" version of him. after all that, that's all armand has gotten here.
