OP gave her a chance was willing to open their relationship for her did everything he could think of and she still kept in contact and hid that from him thinking it was protecting him when really it was herself she was protecting. He was far more supportive than most would be and I give him props for that, as he said she grew up in a super conservative family so being supportive was the correct choice. Too bad Betty was just not as supportive as he was. I hope he finds someone who appreciates him

I think that therapist did more damage.. I would even bet that they were the one who encouraged the fiancée to still keep contact with the Colorado girl. the therapist in this case would have basically been the one who destroyed the last chance for this marriage to work
