Many heavy drinkers can’t be friends with non drinkers. It makes them feel things they don’t want to feel. It’s a them problem.

we throw parties several times a year, a few times some of our friends aren't drinking, when we know we buy extra soft drinks for them, are parties are VERY alcoholic, but I'd prefer them there

If you have a glass of wine in your hand, you offer a glass of wine, as it’s polite. If they say no, you offer literally anything else. If they request something non-alcoholic, you never question it

I have always found it funny that the only bridesmaids from my wedding 26 years ago (and there were 7!) that I no longer speak to … are the ones that I am related to 😂

I had a bridesmaid who is uncomfortable with drinking. doesn't like alcohol etc. I definitely to get mimosas for getting ready because I didn't care and her being comfortable was more important to me than champagne.
