The Hardest Goodbye ..

Modern lighting is one of the most overlooked disruptors of our health. We’ve gone from warm, low, natural light… to bright, artificial, blue-heavy LEDs everywhere. Homes. Street lights. Hospitals. Screens. And it’s having a real effect on our biology. Light directly controls your hormones. Cortisol and melatonin run on a rhythm that’s meant to be aligned with the sun. Cortisol isn’t bad. You want it high in the morning — it wakes you up, gets you moving, sets your day. Then it should gradually fall throughout the day… So by evening, it’s low and melatonin can rise → allowing deep, restorative sleep. But when you’re under bright LEDs at night… Your body thinks it’s still daytime. Cortisol stays elevated. Melatonin gets suppressed. Sleep quality drops. Your whole rhythm becomes dysregulated. This is why so many people feel: tired but wired restless at night low energy during the day — The fix isn’t complicated. Morning: → Get sunlight in your eyes early → Spend as much time outdoors as possible Evening: → Dim your lights → Reduce screen exposure → If you are on screens, use blue blocking glasses (link in bio for the ones I use) → Switch to warmer lighting: red light bulbs incandescent candles (link in bio for healthier light bulb alternatives) The goal is simple: Bright days. Dark, calm evenings. This is how your body is designed to function. Fix your light… and you fix a huge part of your health. #health#lighting#sleep
