I camped there just before the dam was completed and it was just an empty deep valley with zero evidence of any village or buildings.

A worthy mention Cofiwch Dryweryn refers to the compulsory eviction of the village of Capel Celyn so the valley could be flooded by the new Tryweryn Reservoir, WALES

I've been able to see the remains of Derwent village in the Ladybower Resevoir, it was really cool. You could tell what some of the buildings were if you managed to find old photos online (1/2)

there's a reservoir near me in Shepperton Queen Mary's made in 1925, that was once a village, has same legend of church steeple being seen when low but no proof of it
