I clap to show sportsmanship and to teach my kids that as well. I like to show how we can build others up while also standing tall ourselves.

It comes down to teaching them positive sportsmanship. I played soccer and volleyball and my parents taught me to be a team player, even if they’re not on my team. I would acknowledge a good play. 🙂

100% agree! You don’t deserve an award just bc you play! Cheering for YOUR team shows your kids you support THEM. High 5 and shake hands with the other team AFTER the game!

Some kids don’t have parents that care to show up. I can’t imagine making a goal and no one clapping for me at such a young age just because I don’t play for their kids team. 😔

I clap for everyone. They are little kids. What happens if your kid scores and no one on the other side claps and your kid sees no one clapping and he gets upset
