You know what else causes depression, anxiety and suicidal ideations? Awful, debilitating acne. It’s impossible to get on the rx without consulting md and counseling. Stop fear mongering.

This is misleading… yes these events were reported in isotretinoin users, but there’s been no cause and effect relationship found, suggesting this could come from age of users or a variety of factors.

Accutane is a miracle drug and totally safe under the close monitoring of a qualified doctor. My acne was so bad I was disfigured. It was agonizing.❤️🩹 please don’t spread this misinformation!

I’m 59 and I took Accutane when I was 19. It wasn’t FDA approved at that time - it was pretty brutal with the weekly lab draws they had to do!

Both my sons took accutane for their acne- it worked quickly and their acne never came back. Closely monitored by doctor. (and there are massive warnings about pregnancy/birth defects now)

Acutane saved my life. It’s important to be closely monitored by a doctor while on it. It is definitely an intense drug and there can be several side effects to manage. But for me it was so worth it.

And acne is actually the body detoxing (usually chemicals) through the lymph to prepare the body for having children. More toxins exposed to in childhood = more acne.

I took it at 45 and my oldest took it at 17 and my youngest took it twice. We were all informed about all the side effects, closely monitored and monthly blood tests and 2 forms BC. All good.

I contracted mrsa while on accurate and was forced to immediately cease treatment. I completely lost my vision for 3 days. Doctor said it was normal. It did come back but it was scary. I was only 21

I have taken two rounds. Two of my fours kids have done two rounds. The only effect we had was lifelong clear skin following the treatment. I think the people in question may have already had some sort of tendency or issue. I have zero regret and do not think my boys with clear skin would either. It is very closely monitored as it is dispensed for issues.

You’ve obviously never had acne. Me, my kids,— all of us took it (2 series). It’s a lifesaver. Severe acne during adolescence guaranteed depression.
