@principal_lamb: 3 years ago I gave up my principal’s office for a rolling cart. After my first year of rolling the hallways, I went to school on a Saturday in the summer. I made a video about my principal cart. It was my first ever principal social media content. I woke up the morning after I posted it. It had over a million views. I never could have imagined where this first video would take me. I went from being fired from my first principal post earlier in my career to being surrounded by a community of over 800,000 on my social media channels. The two schools I currently support have achieved some of the highest academic gains in Louisiana over the past two years. I’ve been featured by Today.com and People Magazine. And this community all started with one post about my principal cart. To all my colleagues, past and present, thank you for being my inspiration. To my wife, thank you for sticking with me during my lowest moments as a principal. And to everyone in this community, just remember that as educators, we do some of the hardest work on this planet. And it’s also some of the most important. If no one else has told you recently, let me tell you: Thank you for all that you do for your students. If we want different results in our schools, we must take different action. So be bold. Post the video. Ditch the office.
