My daughter switched at 11. We sat and explained the direction my daughter wanted to go with dance. 4 years later her first studio owner still checks in on her and we cheer and support them at comps.

My daughter was at a heavily competitive studio and she wasn’t into competition. We left when she was 9 because she just wanted to dance with less pressure. Best thing we ever did

I switched as a teacher and honestly should have sued for slander. They were AWFUL to me. I finished recital, wasn’t teaching summer, and let them know in the first week of June I wouldn’t be 1/

When my daughter didn’t reenroll for fall, her solo was pulled from the final performance and the owner wouldn’t speak to either of us. 🤷♀️

when i told my ex dance teacher i wanted to change studios (i did it bc i want to become pro and needed better and more training) she screamed at me in her locked car for an hour while i cried and now blocked me everywhere and still talks bad abt me and my new dance teachers over a year later😍

My daughter left a ballet studio after 6 years because she wanted to do Irish dance instead and her former ballet teacher comes to every show she can to watch her ❤️

my studio didn't have ballet so I rushed between 2 studios. the owner hated me for having 2 studios. I chose her because I loved tap more. she let staff abuse me and I left heartbroken and broken.

Yes I switched my girls to a different studio & best decision ever. They went to a studio where they trained more & not spend half the class running competition number. They grew so much.

I changed when I was 8 or 9 because I loved ballet and wanted to do more. They never held that against me and I would still talk to those teachers at comps 🥰

I’ve seen many kids and families trapped in a studio they aren’t happy with. I wasn’t going to pay $12k a year out of loyalty if it wasn’t the training my kids wanted/needed.

So often, when people leave, it’s just as beneficial to the studio. When people aren’t happy, it radiates through the studio and can negatively affect the teachers and other dancers.

I was a studio hopper. 5 studios for me and my brother danced at 4. I have gained so many valuable lessons from changing. Especially when a very talented boy is also involved
