Thomas is missing an elephant in the room. Human thought is extremely limited. We don’t know what is going on, and that’s ok. We think we have to give it a name- GOD.

No logical argument can ever be proof of a God, or proof of anything for that matter. Show me evidence or it’s all just mental masturbation.

But by this logic, who made the maker? Everything has a cause based on your argument.

Your premise suggest there was a beginning. What if there never was a beginning it always existed and was always in motion? With this hypothesis, you need no creator.

Each one of these arguements require special pleading to excuse god from the same problems you’re proposing.

None of this is proof. It just means we don’t know the answer yet. But just saying god did it has never held true as science discovers the reasons.

once again, you are assuming some perfection just because it looks perfect to you. does not mean it is perfect you are claiming perfection not presenting any evidence

Why wouldnt the supposed first cause doesn't have a cause? Why do we assume there is a first cause.

Whatever excuse you have for your god not needing a cause, use that for the universe instead. Or say “wow that’s a great unsolved question in cosmology” instead of “my god did it” 👍

Okay, being a Catholic who once read Aquinas, his arguments were strong for the 13th century. And yes, modern science cannot explain many things, but because man in 2025 is not being able to explain theoretical phenomenon IS NOT PROOF OF GOD.

Actually all your tenets are the same argument. But Thomas Aquinas did not know quantum mechanics. He didn’t know that the universe fundamentally random and that existence of particles is transitory.

everything must be set in motion by something else. okay agreed. what is that? something else find evidence to tell me what that something else is. don't give me a story

Have you ever considered that maybe time is actually endless and the universe just recycles itself and there is actually no beginning but we are rather in a very long time loop?

In classical world, the ancient arguments seem powerful but in a non-classical world perhaps, there’s no need for a first mover or cause; or perhaps complexity can evolve over cosmic time
