@comfort.anesthesia: 🚗 "No Driving Before Surgery? What Kind of Rule Is That?!" Let’s Clear This Up 🚗 I hear this question all the time, so let’s set the record straight. YES, you can drive yourself to your procedure. There’s no rule saying you can’t. But here’s what’s non-negotiable: ❌ You CANNOT drive yourself home. ❌ No driving for at least 24 hours after anesthesia. Why? Because anesthesia isn’t just about putting you to sleep—it affects your reaction time, coordination, and judgment long after you wake up. Even if you feel fine, your body is still processing the medication, and getting behind the wheel is dangerous—for you and everyone else on the road. So yes, drive yourself in if you’d like—but make sure you have a trusted friend or family member ready to take you home. Your safety is always the priority. 💬 Have questions about anesthesia recovery? Drop them in the comments! 👇 Special Note: Hi, I’m Ryan Bezzant, CRNA, and owner of Comfort Anesthesia. I’m a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, not a medical doctor (MD or DO). Through my training and experience, I provide anesthesia services independently or in collaboration with healthcare providers.
