@nextshark: In this emotional clip, two brothers finally reunite after being separated by the Korean War. While their embrace brings tears, it’s tinged with sorrow—they still don’t know the fate of their other siblings. Their story is one of thousands. Back in 1983, Finding Dispersed Families (이산가족을 찾습니다) aired live on KBS. What began as a 45-minute segment grew into a 183-day campaign after over 1,000 people applied on day one alone. In the end, 10,189 families were reunited, but over 100,000 applied—many are still searching. Today, hope for a reunified Korea is complicated by economic, social, and cultural divides. Yet stories like these remind us of the deep human cost of separation—and the resilience of family bonds. via: @thekoreanwar625 📽️Video by: Gabe Jung 🤳Click our linkinbio to sign up to our daily newsletter. 📰Follow us for the latest Asian News @NextShark #news #reel #koreanwar #findingdispersedfamilies #이산가족 #historymatters #koreanhistory #familyreunion #southkorea #northkorea #sharedhistory #humanstories #emotionalreunion

imagine repeating those names in your head over and over again just to not forget despite the pain they probably went through and the trust they had that their bro is somewhere in this world

The translation when he says “How have you been” isnt exactly correct either, its more profound. He says something like “How are you even alive?”
