There are many ways for adhd ers to improve mental calm and presence and its very harmful to make them feel lazy or failing for not doing it your way

yeah, thats not how biological diseases work im afraid. yes, you can get used to the stress and discomfort of failing to concentrate, but it doesn't make it ethical to force them.

There’s a difference between having friction and challenge, and making me increasingly anxious with enhanced feelings of failure, low self worth and guilt because my brain simply is not able to do something designed for neurotypical people. Instead, I changed the meditative practice - doing something that requires a hyperfixation dissociative flow state is meditative - doing a puzzle, crocheting, crafting, Pilates instead of yoga. Where there can be a mindful sense of focus. But the wording of neurotypical therapists around pushing meditation for adhd people needs to be changed as phrasing like this can actually be harmful in setting unreasonable and in achievable expectations that set us up to fail.
