i worked in a ceramics shop and my mom has been doing ceramics since college; my tip: centering is #1 hack. once you master that, literally everything falls in place after it :)

Take your time centering, cone it a couple times if you need it, use your knees as a support, make sure your not overloading the clay with water

Pottery teacher here!! You actually didn’t do bad at all! Let the wheel do the work, wait for it to spin all the way around and then continue to pull, that’s why it’s wobbling bc you’re rushing!🫶

You got this! ☺️have you tried using clay with more grog since it adds some stability? Helped me it practicing throwing taller

just slow down your pulls a little, you can tell by the steepness of the strokes in the clay that youre trying to pull up very fast. And use a sponge every now and then to get rid of the sludgy...

Try to match the speed at which you move your hands for each pull, with the speed of the wheel. Keep going! You’ll get better each time even if you have some casualties.

That’s really good! My technique for pulling is to go nice and slow. Slow down the wheel a touch and and you wanna go slow pulling it up. Your kinda stretching the clay. Too quick and it’ll rip.

Slow it just a little more while pulling! I also find that using a sponge helps with height of the cylinder

When it starts to twist use a wood rib to lift the clay it will help get rid of the twist

Try to keep both your elbows braced when centering! Makes all the difference also in the first pulls helps a ton!
