@joshcmatt: Most people try to dispute late payments with the credit bureaus. But that’s not always the best move. Here’s what I did instead—and why it worked👇 Step 1: I reviewed the client’s credit report. They had a 30-day and 60-day late showing on an open credit card from 2022. Step 2: I didn’t send a dispute to the bureaus. I mailed a custom letter directly to the creditor. Why? Because creditors are the original source of the info. And they’re the ones who report to the bureaus. Step 3: In the letter, I questioned the accuracy of what they reported. I didn’t just say “this is wrong.” I asked them to verify the late payment records using the correct dates and reporting standards. Step 4: They couldn’t prove the info was 100% accurate. So instead of fighting it… They updated the account to “Paid as Agreed.” ✅ No credit bureau involved. ✅ No dispute “verified” message. ✅ Just a clean result from one letter. This is why understanding how credit reporting works gives you the upper hand. You don’t need to beg or argue—just know what to ask for. If this helped you, share this post. Someone you know is probably stressed over a late payment right now. And this could be the answer they’ve been looking for. #latepayments
