They’re not bad at their jobs. They’re just serving a different clientele & that’s the minimum to produce the type of weddings on their social media. There are planners for every budget.

They have cheaper strawberries at Walmart than Erehwon, either you’re one customer or the other. If you are wanting as cheap a wedding as possible, don’t hire a luxury planner

Those are probably just higher end planners who have minimums. Usually they work off % instead of a flat rate and they take a lower amount of weddings throughout the year

A lot of planners are either flat fee or percentage fee. The percentage fee planners typically use very specific and trusted vendors, so they are trying to work within THOSE vendors budgets.

They also don’t have to do their job at any budget. The same way most of us don’t. There’s a variety of pricing out there. I say that as someone who had a wedding planner & didn’t spend 100k 🤷🏾♀️

It’s because they already know what things cost and most people do not until they are in it, you will not be their only client, and it saves both you, them and their vendors time. 1/2

They have their vendor relationships that are a certain price point. Also depends on the planner’s pricing - % based or flat rate. Most “luxury” are % based so only makers sense they need a min amnt.
