I think you can keep miscommunication but it needs to be realistic. I like it WHEN IT MAKES SENSE!

Miscommunication shouldn’t be the whole plot.

People don’t like miscommunication because it’s too real.

Exactly what Abby said! It can be frustrating for sure, but it’s SO realistic 🤣 maybe that’s even why it’s so frustrating 😅

We hate miscommunication when it makes us think the MMC has the emotional intelligence of a toddler. (If I’d wanted that, I can just redownload dating apps)

Yours Truly nearly destroyed me. I almost threw the book into a wall because of the miscommunications or lack of communication. It drove me insane. But I still love Abby’s books and writing. Worth it.

Keep it relatively short though. I just hate it when it's half the book.

Miscommunication trope is my least favorite trope but I understand the role it can play in a story, so I’m fine with minimal amounts, what drives me crazy is how often I see the same miscommunication-

The miscommunication in Yours Truly was the only thing keeping it from being 5 stars for me. I wasn’t mad that it was there, but it went on far too long

HATED the miscommunication in yours truly. What really annoyed me was that it was unreasonable miscommunication just for the sake of drama. And they would THINK things instead of saying them out loud

Miscommunication feels real to me, I’m not out here falling in love with my enemy or sharing a bed with my brothers best friend 😅

It’s also SO real. People consistently miscommunicate their intentions, what their words mean, what they want. It’s legitimately the most honest way to portray any relationship, especially romantic.

Life’s Too Short had a strong miscommunication trope and I really don’t like that trope but that’s literally my fav book of hers! when they finally communicated it was such a reward!!

Knowing how to do miscommunication is an art, some authors just don’t. I love Abby!

It’s not miscommunication it’s the LACK of communication. They literally ask no questions just make wild, life-altering assumptions and don’t have a conversation about it?!? Makes me not even want them to be together by the end.

I LOVE Abby Jimenez, but the miscommunication in The Friend Zone drove me NUTS. A little is fine, but not when it’s the whole plot of the book.

I’ve never heard of this author and haven’t read a romance novel in YEARS but I definitely want to check her out! She seems cool! Thanks for having her as a guest and introducing her to me!
