While a sweet, I do want to point out that the pick your own method is better for those who used fool banks/ahelves. Allergies, food restrictions bcaz of diet or religion, etc, leaves ppl with food they can’t use/eat

Add a can opener and make sure nothing needs milk… I just read recently that most people who pick things up like this can’t actually open and cook all of it. Maybe even a bottle of water?

Our church makes birthday in a bag and donates them! It’s cake mix, frosting, candles, different kid themed paper goods and decorations, a disposable cake pan, and little favors.

Hey, I’m sure this is going to get lost, but my mom used to work for food pantry and they would do birthday bags. Everything you need to throw a birthday party for kid. Box cake mix, frosting, oil, tablecloth, plates, napkins, forks, cups, juice. It was a huge deal because it meant the parents that otherwise wouldn’t be able to give their kids a birthday would now give them something to remember.

I do this with homeless folks for their pets. I bag up pet food and pet care stuff in a plastic gift bag. It's so hard to be homeless but it's really bad when your pet has to suffer with you. I know

If a recipient complains or rejects them, they clearly don't need to use a foodbank. These are a great idea, especially for people who have no idea how to make an affordable meal.
