@tokwithvivi18: For those that deal with Alopecia: I see you. Doesn’t matter if you’ve lost ALL your hair or you have patches. It is still so hard to navigate the big feelings that come with it. First impressions, going to the store, going to the mailbox, fancy events, casual events, family gathering, the questions; “are you sick?” “Why did you shave your head” “do you have cancer?” “Will it grow back?” There are silver linings like wearing cute headscarves, fun wigs, playing around with temporary tattoo eyebrows, meeting a new community, honoring those who have a relationship with cancer/hair loss. Those things can be seen as pros but the cons are quiet, lonely and typically unseen. Everyone has to deal with their own shit and this happens to mine. It also happens to be visible. It is what it is. I’m grateful to have such supportive family and friends. And I know that if I lose it again I’m capable of dealing with it. I like talking about it, I like hearing your experiences with it because it gives me strength and makes me feel seen.
