@kimberly.dowdell: Haircuts used to be one of the hardest things for Jack. The noise, the feeling, the overwhelm—it was a full-family workout just to get through it. But everything changed when we gave him the control. Now, he says “stop” when he needs a break and “go” when he’s ready. We take our time, talk him through it, and remind him how brave he is. I also started cutting his hair at home to help him feel safe. It’s made a world of difference—for all of us. If you’re in the thick of this with someone you love, I hope this gives you a little hope.
