Poorly explained but the premise is basically: double down on your strengths & find the experts where you’re deficient.

Thats not really how people are distributed in a company though, I find most people are pretty good at their job because they have been pre-filtered to get there, the "geniuses" are rare

Might be interesting from a corporate perspective but mostly useless from a personal audience perspective - you are still more likely to earn more money as a mid lowyer the a good flute player

This is exactly how your human intelligence works. Focus on your strengths and it'll be easier to raise your weaknesses later. Why waste time going from bad to ok. Going from good to amazing will allow you to take your bad areas and make them good. Simply understand exponents and you'll understand why focusing on your strengths provides you exponential growth. The smarter you are the easier it is to become even smarter.

it's really hard to assemble a motivated team with complementary attributes. maybe in the 80s you could, when people were still not trying to be a star

But microsoft makes SUCH MID software. It’s not even fun. Why is powerpoint so hard to navigate, slow, and bad?! I don’t want to make my presentations in Canva, Keynote or Figma but they force me

Just a note for people watching, this is super anecdotal to his experience. Some researchers on performance and achievement would actively oppose this advice.

That’s how I run my teams. Everyone is smart at something and less educated at something else. Put 2-3 engineers together and they compliment each others skills.
