It’s simple. You want to supply the parts because you make money off the parts. The restaurant analogy is not a comparison. Don’t be fake and not mention that money is not the main contributing factor

At least be honest about it. The reason it’s doesn’t work out well for you is because most of the profit you make on a job comes from the parts. I also get that it is more practical.

I always buy the parts myself at trade price and reclaim the VAT, and my mechanic just charges a bit of labour with a VAT receipt. Works out much better for me.

I’m bringing my steak to the restaurant the next time I’m eating out 😊😊 drives me mad. It’s a business . Parts and labour and your car is fixed. Respect the motor trade

you are 100% right, it's the only way to do it. if the customer wants to go somewhere else, let them go.

Re supplying parts, I’m a car enthusiast and like very good quality oils, parts….. I’d sometimes prefer to supply instead of spurious parts. My two cents 👍 love the videos.

Looking at front discs for my yoke and it was a mine field. (Don't need changing, was just curious)
A grand on one website, 200 quid on another. I'd rather not take the chance when it comes to safety.

I work in the trade but always found it bizarre that parts discounts aren’t passed on to customers, we’re here to offer labour, if we can get parts cheaper than you can direct then that should attract
