Multiple incorrect comments in this video. It’s not to provide optimal control during the flight. It’s literally designed to come off the aircraft at a certain speed. Bleed air is used in flight for that. Second, you say we use primarily type 4. In fact type 1 is more common and type 4 is only used if current icing conditions exist on the ground
