A man once told me his house was perfect and permanent—built by the Highest Architect. But then he explained there was a war inside the house. One son stayed loyal. Another son rebelled and was cast out. Then the Architect had to enter the house as a tenant to fix what was broken. And the house would only be stable again after a final future renovation. So I asked him gently: ‘If the house is truly permanent and perfect… why does it keep needing repairs?’ ‘If peace is eternal there… how did conflict arise inside it at all?’ Buddhism doesn’t insult the house. It just points at the obvious: If something changes, splits, fights, falls, and gets repaired… it’s not permanent. It’s conditioned.
