@starkstechnology: I dare argue a degree in software engineering is many orders of magnitude more valuable than a degree in computer science. This is even now during the AI revolution. A degree in computer science is only valuable because it’s unnecessarily hard, especially when it comes to big universities like Cornell. But a degree in software engineering literally teaches you the skills to become an extremely good software engineer. This includes things like how do I test software? How do I develop the software architecture? How do I communicate in teams? How do I do pair programming? These are literally the skills I needed to be successful in my first job, which is why I was able to be promoted from software engineer I to software engineer II within a year. That’s why when I was 24 years old I made over $400,000 per year
I 100% agree and I'm graduating with CS. This curriculum gets down in the nitty gritty with theory, algorithms and runtime performances. Outside of class I am practicing these skills in the video!
