"Shriman Gambhir" was the national anthem of Nepal from 1962 until May 19, 2006, serving as a royal anthem that praised the sovereign and the country. Composed by Bakhat Bahadur Budhapirthi in 1899 with lyrics by Chakrapani Chalise in 1924, it was replaced by "Sayaun Thunga Phoolka" following the 2006 democracy movement.  Key Details About the Anthem: Purpose: It was originally a salute to the Shah dynasty kings, later adopted as the national anthem in 1962, focusing heavily on honoring the monarch.
