Yeah they still had the books under O’Neill when I had my first season tickets. You’d also get a cup game ticket in there included too. They’d rip one out in the turnstiles and let you in.

They alternated between Claret and blue each season with the booklets, I always remember there were loads of extra tickets that you would never use in the back

I moved from Brum to Plymouth in 97’ and this was the last season ticket book I had with Villa. When I went back for the Championship it had moved on to the plastic card. I miss the books.

You had to show the ticket on the way in, yeah. They weren’t dated, if I recall incase dates changed…but I’m sure I still have mine and my dads from round about that time

OMG I still got mine and the extra tickets were for cup games. Also back then the 2nd or 3rd round of the league cup was over 2 legs and the home leg was included.
