@mcfaddinwardhouse: ✨ #ArtifactFriday – The McFaddins’ Tiffany Chandelier, ca. 1906 ✨ Born in 1848, Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the famous jewelry company founder Charles Tiffany, was one of the most prolific glassmakers of the 19th and 20th centuries. He developed an innovative method of glass manufacturing called “Favrile,” meaning handmade in French, that featured brilliant iridescent colors with nature as the primary inspiration. The McFaddins’ Tiffany chandelier was produced by Louis’s Tiffany Studios around 1906. The glass features a striking dogwood blossom design and is encircled by a bronze beaded border. The chandelier attaches to the ceiling with bronze hooks and chains. It originally hung in the McFaddin-Ward House Dining Room. Tiffany’s pieces are known for their exceptional beauty and continue to be prized by collectors today. The demand for authentic Tiffany lamps has seen a rise in hard-to-spot fakes flooding the market. According to “Antique Trader,” it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between real Tiffany lamps and their phony counterparts. #mcfaddinwardhouse #historichouse #historichome #History #museum #tour #artifacts #sneakpeek #tiffanylamp #tiffany #truecrime #fbi #historical #mansiontour #decor #mansion #beaumonttexas #visitbeaumonttx #artcrime #art #spotfakes #foryoupage #foryou #fyp
I live in a town Tiffany resided in-- we're lucky to have several oversized pieces and a family home on grounds. Seeing them in person makes you want to learn the art ⚒️🪟
