@almafrancisheyliger: As a sitting senator, I am both deeply concerned and appalled by the ongoing lack of accountability within our government agencies. It is utterly unacceptable and, quite frankly, absurd that government employees continue to misuse government vehicles after work hours with no repercussions. How is it that taxpayers are expected to foot the bill for this negligence? We are currently spending over $4 million annually on fuel a figure that is both outrageous and unsustainable. This is not just wasteful spending. It is a clear sign of systemic failure to enforce basic rules and standards. We can not continue to operate in a culture where irresponsibility is tolerated and even normalized. The public deserves better. Accountability must not be a buzzword it must be our standard. I am calling for immediate action and practical solutions. Whether it’s policy enforcement, actual use of tracking systems reports, or disciplinary measures, we need to do better, and we need to start now. The world is becoming more complex and challenging by the day. We can not afford to be careless stewards of public resources.
