The existence of the Charger and Challenger Hellcat was also the reason for the demise of the Viper. The Hellcats were a lot cheaper, offered more power, and were practical for everyday use.

The low viper sales did not justify the expense of airbag engineering. The m1 was produced for homololgation into a racing series that ended by the time it hit the market.

M1 was a huge failure cuz it costed as much as a countach but it had kalf the engine, looked like it looked and was just a bad option to choose on the sportscar market
