@embracingecho: this video shows the loss of bladder control during an epileptic seizure which makes it the most vulnerable and embarrassing post I’ve made that being said, a lot of people ask what I do when I’m home alone don’t get me wrong, it is terrifying to have a medical emergency by yourself - but I have Echo and @iPupPee Echo is taught to use a call button for dogs. It calls my family and lets them watch, speak to me, record what is happening, and call an ambulance if needed Echo alerts me and brings a bag that contains the necessary medicine to prevent/stop medical episodes. If I’m too unresponsive to stop or prevent a medical event, he presses the button he barks for help when people are around but sometimes no one is there This is why we rely so heavily on medical devices like home cameras, buttons for dogs, and of course service animals These tools are reason I have any independence I cut about 30 minutes out of this video. I was dizzy, weak, seeing hues of yellow in my vision, and overall couldn’t control much as I was going into and coming out of this seizure In hindsight and looking back on footage, I think Echo was alerting me way before I noticed He gave me the medication to prevent the seizure, I just couldn’t take it this is the first video we actually captured how the button keeps me safe - thank you iPupPee #EpilepsyAwareness #ServiceDogSupport #InvisibleIllness #SeizureFirstAid #EpilepticSeizures

I wish I could afford to get my son a service dog to help him with his Epilepsy and Grand Mal seizures. Trained service animals are so expensive. Great job Echo!

My love you have nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s nothing you control. You’re incredibly strong for letting others in. It could help them. I’m so glad you have your family and dog to help.
