That’s why I think Mazda is killing it, bigger engines with non cvt transmissions. Losing out on mpgs sure but a way better feel.

you think car companies are doing it because they want to? they're doing it because of increasing government regulations

You can blame emissions for that

it's the EPA, car companies don't want to put engine start stop but it does well in epa testing

My Honda Odyssey has a V6 😁, it’s pretty nice actually. Fuel economy is terrible though.

The point of the government regulations is to make driving less fun so fewer people want to do it

unfortunately companies are in the market to sell cars not to fulfill the enthusiasts. I do wish honda sticks to these screaming 8k motors

a 4 cylinder turbo produces like about 50% less NOx emissions than a naturally aspirated v6, yes it gets slightly better fuel economy, but it's not the main reason

U forgot to mention that turbo engines are more unreliable

Smaller, turbocharged engines are on average more efficient, and that's just a fact. So imma let you in on a secret, cars don't have souls, it's personal preference whether you like it or not.

it chasing MPG and more HP. you can't do that with NA engines. NA is more HP equals needing bigger engine but turbo means smaller engine big HP with benefit of more MPG. fyi bigger engines are cleaner

Ehh it’s about more usable power in this case where at 3k to 4k rpm where the older k20s have absolutely no power these L15 have that torque right there. L15 hate is very forced it’s a good engine.

205 crank horsepower for the 8th gen while the 10th gens dyno at 200-205 WHEEL horsepower. Big difference.

I was never a fan of boost, and when Honda left the world of Bseries,Hseries, Fseries and Kseries I think they dropped the ball especially on longevity because at some point that turbo is going to go

While it does help fuel economy slightly they mostly do it to lower tailpipe emissions.

It’s really funny when the dude in the vtec next to me is revving out from light to light to get that 30 hp😂. I can hear him coming be long before
