Guys. This movie is about the rose being him. He abandoned his true essence because he began to grow up, others ideas were forced upon him because that’s what they “the business man, etc” thought was essential and ideal. That’s why the little prince grew up to be so nervous and anxious, and unhappy, because he strayed away from “his rose” “his true self” which is sooo deep and I think it confused a lot of people. And it makes sense for the girl in the movie, who isn’t in her true essence, but following what her mother and every other person in the movie thinks is “a good adult” until she meets the pilot, who brings out her true nature.

I dont think he really died, i think it symbolised him growing up and learning about responsibility and loyalty towards his rose that he was earlier too young to love, but then while traveling he learned that he has to ,, kill a child " to become a grownup.
