I don’t think Mia had bad intentions but it did seem really tone deaf. Investing is always a risk so it’s not always accessible for the poor, who aren’t in positions to lose any more money

Barriers to investing are low but you also can’t invest your way out of financial instability/poverty without significant capital. 10% gain on £1m is 100K profit. 30% on £1000 is £300.

Gary’s point is that as the wealthy have accumulated so much wealth, their investing gains are disproportionate versus normal people. This drives more inflation and makes people poorer.

Thank you for speaking on this! Completely agree with all of your points, as you said I don’t think Mia had any ill intention and I appreciate that she came out and said she understands how she could have worded things better , but definitely still an important subject to talk about regardless

You really can’t tax the ultra wealthy they have so many more countries to move to like Dubai and Morocco. Uk tax is sooo high and wealthy people have so many nicer choices than here
