Quebec City resident here. The city is awesome for English-speaking tourists! The negative comments are totally out of touch. The language issues were back in the 70s-80s to protect the culture.

In the winter Old Quebec is like a winter wonderland. The town center is an ice rink with music and lights, ice sculptures and an ice slide 💕 it’s like something out of a Hallmark movie

Was just there last week! Stayed at the Frontenac! And everyone we met there were so friendly! No issues at all and would love to go back someday!

The people commenting badly about the preservation of French in Quebec are the same complaining about other cultures (mostly from India) being in their province and not speaking English well🤦🏼♀️

As a common courtesy, just ask residents if they speak English before you just impose yourself with no consideration. Kindness and respect go a long way

Tourist can be refused service in English even if the clerk can speak English they don't have to serve you in English. Which is great for tourism in Quebec 😂😂😂. which is surrounded by English.

Quebec city beautiful but was not treated well because I spoke English, but then we would only speak Portuguese the attitude changed. no matter what language you speak all should be treated same way

I was constantly harassed in Quebec city for speaking to my own friends in English, even though I spoke with everybody who worked there in French✨✨✨
