@paytonchristian: We can’t save them all, but we can show them all love. Handsome Today I am 8 days old. Today was “Help A Horse Day” They say the mind has a way of protecting itself, by blocking out the bad things that haunts our memories. Let me tell you about my beautiful wonderful life. Each and every day, I had breakfast delivered. My feet hurt from neglect in my past life, so my food was brought to me, where I stood. Alfalfa? Oh I was fed the best alfalfa in these parts. I was given that wonderful alfalfa not once, not twice, but 3 times a day, (keep in mind it was just a bit at a time). Then around 3:00 each afternoon Alex and Bella, came to visit. They brought me yet more feed and that amazing alfalfa (where has this stuff been my whole life?) I can feel the fullness coming back to my stomach, it’s as if I can barely remember ever being hungry at all. My days consist of resting in the fields or grazing on the tender green grass as it reaches for the April sun. Yes I’ve had a blessed life. Brushed each day, having my feet gently picked up and cleaned, before having them wrapped. Each day twice a day I received this medication that helped with this ungodly pain in my feet. The pain, shoots up my legs, even into my shoulders and hips. Today was even more special. Alex and Bella, brushed my mane and tail. Bella attempted to brush the hair over the rest of my body, however due to the life, I once lived my hair continues to fall out in clumps. Bella and Alex feed me a treat of some tender grass from the creek bank. I see the tears in Payton’s eyes, I know. I know today is my last day of this beautiful life. The last day, I get to hear Payton say “Hi there Handsome Man”. The last day the others bring that wonderful Alfalfa to my paddock. The last day of this beautiful life, but what a beautiful life. Today I say goodbye because of this pain, this unimaginable pain. Today the pain goes away. I stand here, reflecting on my life, my life started the day I was unloaded off the trailer at the gas station and delivered to Payton and her team. Today I am 8 days old and I was 8 days old the day I died. ……….Handsome Today for “Help A Horse Day” I helped your baby out of pain. I made sure he was brushed. I made sure he had a full belly of his favorites and I kissed him and told him, how amazingly he was and how much he was loved……..#foryou #rescue #foryoupage #fyp #animalshelter
