When our disabled corgi was basically on hospice we would fight over who got to take care of her. she was pretty much our first kid and he was there for everything.

If your husband isn't having literal nightmares he needs to talk to therapist about -- about loosing your dogs, them being crated more than a total of 4 hrs in 36 hr period, missing your training appt. or feeding them wrong food, your priorities are wrong.
