Plant a garden downstream from the drain. Your water will be FULL of nitrates so leafy greens will grow like crazy with no fertilizers! 😃

keep the drain level how it is and add gravel or river rocks and it'll be fine and hold beneficial bacteria and even allow a few bugs for the ducks to peck and eat too. ponds benefit are huge

A friend's kids found a wild duckling alone & asked if we could care for it since we raise chickens. We did this same thing for her. She was so happy & funny, grew up & flew away, lol! Miss you Daisy!

My ducks pond is just like that!!! Works great. Only draw back is the fathers that gets stuck on the drain. Still have to reach in for those. The rocks around the pond has a liner to for easy rinse.

why would you need to drain and clean the pond? cant you just refill with more water or something
