@kansascitykaren: 💛A Day with Children’s Mercy💙 Today, I was on the other side of the house to explore Children’s Mercy. As a long time family who has used their services, I was invited to learn more about their facilities, programs, and innovation. Here are some fun facts I learned below 👇 💙 Innovation studio where staff are working to produce new software and products for market. 💛 15 locations in total with 2 of those being the downtown KC hospital and the Overland Park hospital. 💙 Over 8,821 employees 778 pediatric specialists, and 869 volunteers. 💛 The cost per day to operate is $4.3 million a day, $193,00/hr. 💙 477 Active sponsored research programs at their new Children’s Mercy Research Institute. 💛 Most frequent burns in the burn unit, is ramen noodles. Be careful and handle with care using the microwave. 💙 4 service dogs on staff for kiddos and staff, with the cutest one being Hunter.
