@drtaraswart: When you're working on changing a pattern or behavior, every single thought matters 💭 That doesn’t mean one negative thought will completely sabotage your progress — but it does mean that real transformation requires awareness. The more conscious you are of the thoughts that shape your actions, the more effectively you can create change. Here’s a neuroscience-supported, four-step framework for rewiring the mind and reshaping behaviour: Step One is Raised Awareness. This stage is all about tuning into your thoughts and noticing the beliefs beneath them. What beliefs are driving your decisions? Where are those beliefs rooted? Spend time — at least a month — simply observing your thoughts. Journaling or talking therapy can be incredibly helpful during this phase. The goal here isn’t to judge or fix anything, but to understand the mental and emotional landscape that shapes your behavior. Step Two is Focused Attention. Once you’ve identified a particular pattern you want to shift begin to observe it in real time. When does it show up? What triggers it? In the beginning, don’t force change. Just notice. As you grow more familiar with the pattern, gently begin to reframe it when it arises. Step Three is Deliberate Practice. Once you’ve built awareness and brought focused attention to the old pattern, you’re ready to begin practicing the new behaviour. The next time the familiar pattern surfaces, pause and choose a new response. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about repetition. Over time, your brain starts to rewire, and the new behavior becomes more natural than the old one. What was once effortful becomes your new default. Step Four is Accountability. This step supports the entire process. Transformation sticks best when there’s something or someone helping to keep you aligned. That might be a coach, therapist, friend, or partner. Or it might be internal — a vision board, personal goals, or reflective journaling. Find a way to stay grounded in your intention, and check in with yourself often. Celebrate your wins, and don’t be discouraged by setbacks. They’re part of the rewiring process too. Change isn’t instant. But with awareness, attention, practice, and accountability, you’re not just changing your behaviour — you’re rewiring your brain. #Neuroscience #Neuroscientist #PersonalDevelopment #BehaviourChange #Neuroplasticity

Small changes become big changes. Start with changing, “I have to go to work today” with “I get to go to work today”. It immediately makes me feel grateful.

💯 Backed in science. You just have to "train" your brain.
