@abc7chicago: Firefighters in Tucson, Arizona, had to winch a patient down 15 floors as all elevators were out of service in a public housing building downtown on the morning of Monday, April 7. Footage released by the Tucson Fire Department shows the complex operation, using a rope system to lower the patient. The incident took place at Tucson House, a public housing building where residents have been complaining of deteriorating living conditions.
allowing a building that tall to fall into that state of disrepair while still collecting rent from the residents should be a felony crime.

Stair chair would be much faster than setting up multiple rope systems but I guess it’s good practice?

Really wish they showed an angle on the actual setup and procedure. Wonder how long that took. Was it a medical emergency or an evacuation? So many questions

When did the elevator break vs when was this filmed? 😐 How long were the disabled residents of that building left without access and put in danger? Shoutout to the firefighters 💙

okay I'll see it the landlord's fault and it's the state's fault they did not do safety inspections on the elevator and on the building but nobody can find a charge but firefighters were still alive

Remember, this was done after climbing fifteen flights of stairs, while carrying everything they might maybe need.

This is why I left the field and went to the ER. With Pots and a half working stairchair due to lack of proper funding, this would’ve sent me into svt and I would’ve become the patient myself

It takes some effort to get a person down a couple flights of stairs. 15 floors is a whole different story.
