@samanthakuchera: Happy C-Section Awareness Month!! At my 38-week appointment, I expected the usual check-in. Instead, I was told my placenta was beginning to calcify, my baby boy wasn’t practicing breathing in the womb, and I was basically the poster child for preeclampsia. What was supposed to be a routine appointment turned into a very real and urgent medical situation. I was induced and began what would become a three-day labor. By the third day, I had only made it to 7 centimeters. Exhausted and in pain, I finally got an epidural, and eventually reached 10 centimeters. It was time to push. I pushed for five intense hours. His head was almost out when suddenly, everything changed. I started bleeding alot. My baby’s heart rate was dropping fast. Within minutes, the room was swarming with doctors and nurses. I was being rushed into an emergency C-section. During the procedure, they discovered that the right side of my uterus had collapsed. I ended up needing stitches in three different places. I was overwhelmed, terrified, and just trying to hold on until I could hear my baby cry. Recovery? Brutal. C-sections are major abdominal surgery, something that doesn’t always get talked about enough. You don’t just bounce back. It’s painful, it's exhausting, and it's emotional. Your body is healing from surgery while also adjusting to life as a new mom. What makes it even more complicated is how common this actually is. In the U.S., about 1 in 3 births (32.1%) are via C-section. Many of those are unplanned or emergency procedures like mine. Inductions especially those done early due to medical issues often increase the likelihood of needing a C-section, especially when labor doesn't progress naturally or complications arise. This wasn’t the story I imagined. It wasn’t what I hoped for. But it’s my story. And I’m proud of what my body endured to bring my son into this world safely. To any other mom who has gone through something similar you’re not alone. Your story matters. Your strength is unmatched. #csectiondelivery #csectionmom #csectionrecovery #birth #postpartum #postpartumrecovery #emergency #emergencycsection #firsttimemom #pregnancy #pregnant #preeclampsia #fypシ

The fact they even let you go that long 😅😅😅 just to have a c section is crazy. I labored for 27 hours didn’t even dilate half a centimeter in that time- they knew something was wrong immediately

I just know you felt like you were hit by 100 buses. I pushed for 4 and they started prepping me for c-section and I was devastated but I pushed once more & he shot out. My entire body felt broken😭

I was induced and after 60 hrs didn’t progress more than 4 cm. They wanted to keep going and would have put my child in jeopardy. I requested a c section. And I am trying to raos

I also had a failed induction. 50 hour labor. Pushed for 4 hours but baby never made it down. I ended up having a c-section and developed postpartum preeclampsia shortly after, making it a 5 day stay

Currently sitting on day 9 in the hospital. Water broke and I got an infection that affected me and baby. By 9cm I had a full fever & baby’s HR was high. After trying some early pushes, they ran (1)

I pushed for 4.5 hours with my first, and I’ve never felt that level of exhaustion in MY LIFE. Nothing will compare to that

My baby is about to be a year old on the 31st. I was in labor for 3 days also and pushed for 4 1/2 and ended up with a c section. I honestly still have trauma from her birth 🫠

Idk how you were still conscious after 5 hours! I felt like I was passing out 4 different times after pushing for only 2. You're crazy strong for that.
