Nope, wrong on the biggest scam. The biggest scam is "you're low on refrigerant".

put the disconnect on TOP of the box!! if someone inexperienced accidentally put it back in correctly, it would be a bad thing!!

HVAC techs are some of the most dishonest trades out there. The companies specifically tell them to find a problem or overcharge.

I’d rather pay 200 for it to be installed right instead of me doing it and making a mistake.

You’d better check the voltage after you pull the disconnect out. Sometimes a careless tech may have bypassed the pull out in the past and rendered the disconnect useless. You can be shocked!

Most the time it's not really bad and you get someone else's old capacitor.

As a contractor makes sense to buy one fits all instead of many, besides the cost is passed to the consumer but as a DYI, makes no sense paying 80$ instead of 10.

My guy… I saved this video MONTHS ago hoping it’d come in handy in the future - I bought the turbo thing on Amazon during this time as well. Fast forward to today when our A/C went out and it was 106° out. I followed this video step by step and it all started working on the first try! Just thought I’d come back here and give credit where credit is due. Thank you my dude because I super appreciate it. I’d give you a medal or hug if I could 👍

I wouldn’t advise doing this yourself if you are not a trained HVAC technician there is 220 Volts if touched severe injuries could happen or possible death

I love when homeowners come in looking for parts. They usually come back multiple times in the same day replacing every part on their outside unit when it was just a bad thermostat. I make sure I stamp no warranty or returns on their invoices.
