played 2 years strictly finger style no pick at all. then switched to a pick once I went electric. rn I prefer the pick bc I can play harder faster and do pinches. finger style on accoustic is pretty

I think it all depends what music u want to learn if ur into heavy rock then use a pick but if ur into Simon and Garfunkel or dire strats then use ur fingers
