Traveling to Portugal with my husband and exploring Madeira Island was hands down one of the most relaxing and magical holidays we’ve ever had. 🇵🇹🏳️‍🌈 We stayed at a incredible “Golden Residence Hotel” with a great package deal, complete with daily inclusive breakfasts and an unforgettable couple's massage at the hotel spa. There’s nothing like strolling through Funchal, taking in the dramatic views at Cabo Girão, exploring the lush paths of Levada walks and sitting at those charming, small coastal cafés right along the waterline listening to the ocean. We took “Madeira Catamaran Cruise” as well for a day trip to visit other small islands nearby, which was also an awesome experience✨🤍 Of course, no trip to Portugal is complete without indulging in the famous local cuisine—from fresh Pastéis de Nata and Bacalhau to Madeira’s signature Espada com Banana, washed down with a refreshing Poncha. Having these moments together as husbands means the world to us.🏳️‍🌈 Growing up in Pakistan, living openly as part of the LGBT community and building a life like this felt like a distant dream. I dreamed it, worked hard for it, and achieved it. To everyone in the LGBT community across South Asia: your dreams are valid and possible. Trust yourself, love yourself and know that finding true love, a supportive partner and celebrating over 10 years of happy marriage is completely within reach.
