@savannaschwartz: It’s finally ramps season! Dreaming of these delicious funky tasting plants that pop up in early spring is what got me through this harsh winter. Be particularly mindful about sustainable foraging if ramps are often harvested in your area. #foraging #ediblewildplants #homestead #ramps
Ehh, I have 30 acres of them. Been pulling bulbs for 25 years , 5 gallon pails at a rip. They will never diminish. ( at least for my personal use).

Fun fact, they're the most common allium species in North America!

Thank you for informing people to harvest sustainably. Tired of seeing other pages just harvesting all of everything they see and encouraging others to do the same

Curious where you’re located? I teach Nature Preschool in NKY. We’d love you to visit our class! My kiddos love hiking and chomping on “garlic grass” (wild onions). Still no edible mushrooms for us!

I dig and transplant the roots as well as small ones. Leaves don't have the flavor bulbs do

Take the whole plant cut 1/4 inch above roots and replant the bulb is the best part and they recover easily!!

I scanned some ramps into my plant identifier and it said it was toxic for human to eat. I have been trying to forage more items but I want to be safe about it
