I feel like people don’t know the Air Force only has 3 day weekends and the “family day” was simply what they called that fourth day all the other branches get

All the non 24/7 AFSCs really going through it right now. I haven’t touched a family day in 3 years, and I’m lucky if I even get the holiday in the same month

I never had a family day in my 12 years. Those of us who worked in an AFSC with a 24/7 mission didn’t get afforded those days. Although, those who were in office jobs definitely got those days.

Yes, this policy change does not improve readiness. The family days also varied from MAJCOM to MAJCOM. Not all MAJCOMs gave all 11 days, like ACC, which only gave 4.
